Maryam Usman of Nigeria won a gold medal in
Women’s 75kg category outdoing her competitors in style as she finished with an
overall score of 280 kg which included her body mass too. Reigning champion Ele
Opeloge stood at second place while a New Zealander wrestler made it to win a
bronze medal to her name. Weightlifting has been hugely dominated by Indians
but the three stood up to keep them aside of the event.
