England strikes double

Jodis Stimpson, who narrowly missed out a medal in 2012 Olympic Games due to a ridiculous British selection policy, healed her wounds as she won a gold medal in triathlon. In the last 10 km, she timed her surge perfectly as she outdid Canada’s Kirsten Sweetland just 300m before the crossing line. She took 1 hour 58 minutes and 56 seconds. Silver medal was won by Sweetland while the bronze medal went to Stimpson’s compatriot Vicky Holland.
