Aussie
hockey team marched onto the hockey event with a dominating win over Welsh who
tried to be a little physical with them during the play. After the introduction
of the event in 1998, Australia won gold every time since then. They completely
outdone Welsh with a score of 7-1, marching forward in the event.
It was Kookaburra's opening match and they played it like a final. The tactic used by
Welsh to slow down Australian players failed.
