Harpreet Singh, the Sikh from India bagged
a Silver medal to his name in 25 m rapid fire pistol as he survived two tense
rounds to dock off a penalty point docked off to him. The 33 year old saved his
motherland from disaster as Olympic Silver medalist Vijay Kumar failed to
qualify even for the second round. He stood seventh Barry Buddon Shooting
Center after showing a dismal performance. Harpreet Singh hit the target 21
times in the final after topping the charts in the qualifier.
