Laura
Trott of England won gold in women’s points race to seal off a great victory to
make her country proud. She was suffering with a kidney infection but performed
like a superhuman giving her more than 100% effort to overcome her opponents.
It was Jess Varnish who won a bronze medal in the women’s sprint race. But the talk of
the day was Scottish Chris Pritchard who proposed to his girlfriend in the stands
immediately after the keirin.
